RECREATION - SUMMER ACTIVITES
Summertime in the Rockies brings along a slower pace and a casual lifestyle. The inspired surroundings will take you on a journey into the great wide open and teach you all the possibilities that this mountain paradise has to offer. From the moment the sun comes up, the day is a perfect postcard setting. The brilliant blue sky, the warm rays of the sun, and the fresh mountain air is enough to keep you smiling until sundown. It's common to see people taking full advantage of this short season.

Fraser River Trail Biking, rollerblading, running or walking along the 5-mile Fraser River Trail that connects Winter Park Resort and the towns of Winter Park and Fraser is a must for everyone! The solitude and beauty of the trail offers users a popular alternative to busier routes. Picnic tables are located along the trail from the town of Winter Park to the resort.

Winter Park Resort gets busy during the warm summer months with activities for the entire family. At the base of the resort there are all kinds of activities going on. Get lost in the human maze or play a round of miniature golf. The climbing wall is a 24 foot wall with three different routes. Don't miss out on Colorado's longest Alpine slide, a two side by side track with 26 linked turns! The Zephyr Express Chairlift will take, bikers, hikers, picnickers, and sightseers to the 10,700 ft summit at Winter Park Mountain. The resort also hosts an array of concerts and social events.

Golf Grand County has four public golf courses, Pole Creek Golf Club, Grand Lake Golf Course, Sol Vista Golf Club and Grand Elk. Grand County will soon be a golf meca with more courses scheduled to open in the next few years. The award winning Pole Creek Golf Club was voted in 1996 by Golf Digest at "the #1 place to play golf." It has continued with rating as "One of the best golf courses in the state." Pole Creek is a 27-hole golf course with a par of 108. Grand Lake Golf Course is an 18-hole course and offers a variety of golf challenges. Just a tid-bit of information: the high altitude and thinner mountain air means golf balls drive 15% further!
